Cover work Thursday 20th

Tomorrow is your R&P deadline @ 5pm. I will be giving your groups a final grade for your R&P based on what is on there - any work added after this date will NOT be counted

R&P work (Animatic, Production Schedule, Shot List) set earlier in the week then ensure that this is posted on your blogs

URGENT NOTICE 1.
The following groups have not sent me their group blog address so i will not be able to grade your work ie it will reduce your R&P grade for late submission ensure you have sent me the link for your group blogs to rbr@leighacademy.org.uk - if this is not attended to by Friday 21st (Deadline) your group will receive a reduced grade for the R&P (late submission)

Danny, Grace, Rosie
Megan, Sophie, Debbie
Martin, Rosie, Emma

URGENT NOTICE 2.
From looking at your blogs the following groups have not completed the R&P (Animatic with sound, foley, titles and color correction) and as such you have today's lesson remaining to get them on your blog

David, Toby, Jake
Peter, Abbey, Benn
Chris, Callum, Molly
Chloe, India, Nana
Reece, Finn, Tom

Again ensure you contact me with the link to your animatic to rbr@leighacademy.org.uk when you have finished your deadline for all other outstanding R&P is Friday 21st Dec 6pm

HOMEWORK
Over the 2 week Christmas holidays you will need to obtain permissions & risk assessments for locations, organise/prepare your actors, transport and obtain of costumes, props etc. so you are ready to shoot 1st weekend back. I will need video evidence of rehearsals of your characters so use your mobile phones etc.

Remember what you are responsible for will be held accountable for your share of the grade. (ie if you can't get actors on that day - this comes off the student who was responsible for organising them)

Deadline Friday 21st R&P

Please spend 10 minutes showing each other in your groups the L2,3 & 4 examples you found and think about how your film is shaping up - don't spend any longer than 10 mins though you have lots to do in your groups of 3...

This week is DEADLINE week for your R&P - these marks will be final.

BE AWARE - some of you still haven't emailed me your group blog addresses to link to my teaching blog - if they are not sent i cannot mark your work which will result in your getting a 0/20 for R&P

Lesson Objective

To be completed in your groups and uploaded to your group blog this week
1. Video Diary - final week R&P - what needs doing, are you on schedule (see wall chart!), who is responsible for what, when are you rehearsing (video evidence)

2. Animatic (Storyboard photos in Final Cut, with Titles integrated into your slates, Soundtrack and Foley - export to Youtube & Embed in your blog)
3. Shot List (the shooting order of your film with dates & locations)

4. Production Schedule (day, dates, times, location address)

Notice - this is a low budget shoot and as such your 'imaginary' budget will only stretches to pay for the hire lights, HD cameras for 3 days and the edit suite for 2 weeks

Therefore you will only have 1 block booking with the camera for either
Friday 4 PM - Monday 8.30 AM
or
Monday 4PM - Friday 8.30 AM

You will need to confirm on your Production Schedule when you will be shooting to reserve a camera along with a Risk Assessment and evidence that you have Permission to shoot/council shooting licence.

The available dates will be from the 1st weekend back (Friday 11th Jan) and for the next 3 weeks

Check your deadlines (first post on the blog) for when you have to complete your video

Week 5 Homework due w/c 10th Dec

1. Individual
Research to find an example of a L2, L3 & L4 film opening on youtube & annotate using the criteria, explain why you have categorised it as this level.

Embed them on your individual blog

Search for "G321 Film Openings" or "AS Media Film Opening"

2. Group:
Watch the L4 example and look at the Parity & The Edge Storyboard (below)

Photograph your Storyboard (22 shots plus) using Rule of 3rds and a variety of shot types, low & high angle as necessary.

Upload these on your blog in numbered order and be ready to upload to Final Cut to create Animatic next week - (here you will add titles etc...)

3. Group:
Find and download a suitable piece of music and sound effects (mp3) for Foley for your Animatic next week - what sounds will need to be emphasised in your sequence?

4. Group:
Edit & Colour Grade Parity. Complete this and upload to group blog for next week

The Edge Storyboard (not in order)
