Audience & BBFC research Guidance & examples
Audience Research Statistics & BBFC (combined)
Present this as a Prezi with voiceover commentary and embedded video, images & your collage (each group member must be involved on audio)

- Identify 3 thriller films from www.imdb.com
- Click on the 'user rating' section & print screen the graphs for each film
- Identify Who is the biggest audience (age & gender) for these Thriller films & WHY? Get images of your typical audience members showing their age range, gender & interests
- Embed video clips from imdb & film posters to demonstrate how the content (violence, male or female protagonist, age of the characters & their occupations, subject matter etc) appeals to who you said the audience is (age & gender)
- Go to www.BBFC.org.uk - identify the UK film classifications and what aspects these are affected by. What are the typical certificates for a Thriller & EXPLAIN why?

Hello. What an exhausting yet important Module! Well done for getting through it and completing your Preliminary Task - and more importantly for stepping up to the challenges of A Level
Think back to where you are at now:
- You can shoot professionally to a basic level (Rule of 3rds, 180 deg rule, control the camera)
- You can edit professionally to a basic level (Final Cut, add titles, trimming, effects)
- You have completed a shoot outside of my supervision (Dexter) and worked as a team
- You can create a sound design using Garageband (Falling Down) and sound effects
- You are in production groups of 3 and have started your individual blog
1. Individual Task: Idea Presentation (Blog)
Your own individual idea for your Thriller - each student to post a Mind Map, Collage & Treatment for a film opening sequence synopsis (individual) with images/video clips of the examples of actual Thrillers you are borrowing from
Create an idea that responds to 1 of the following scenarios

- What SUB GENRE of THRILLER & what happens?
- Where is the OPENING SCENE set, what locations? - include photos/images of suitable
- How will it setting up the CONVENTIONS of a Thriller PLOT?
- What 3 THRILLER FILMS you have watched have influenced this/ what is it similar to?
Create a Collage of the above and the 3 Thriller films that have influenced this along with clips from www.IMDB.com
This will be presented week 1 by every student on camera
2. Group Portfolio Tasks (Group Blog)
Over the half term you must continue to work in groups and demonstrate your contribution to each group task
Here is the remaining tasks that need to be completed over the 2 week break - you can work on these at a distance emailing each other the information or recording your own sections
Each one has an example - they are High L3 or Low L4 - you can do better than last year's students!
